Just Add Ink Blog Hop #294 - Just Add Something New

Hello and welcome to the first Just Add Ink challenge for 2016!

I hope you had a wonderful festive season with some time to relax and unwind.

We're starting the year with a blog hop and the theme is 'just add something new'. Join in the fun and share your creation using something new!

If you're following along with the hop you should have arrived here from Delys' blog.

For my project I've used 2 new Stampin' UP! stamp sets I just received - Number of years and Hello. Obviously the Hello is from the Hello set and the cute little posy is from the Number of years set.
I couldn't wait to crack them open and get some ink onto them!!!!

I had so much fun playing around with the little flowers on this posy, finding the right combination of flowers and colours!

I fussy cut the hello and added another new product - Wink of Stella, this added a nice amount of sparkle to it.

My BFF gave me these cute little sequins for Christmas and this is the first time I've used them.  I love them, they are super sparkly!

We'd really love to see your creation and to be in the running for the prizes on offer don't forget to check out the eligibility criteria on the JAI blog.

You can begin the blog hop here on my blog or at any of the other design team members blog posts. Just follow the hop by clicking on the next or previous buttons you will find at the bottom of all the design team posts. Or you can start Here at the beginning.

Just Add Ink #293 - Just add a Gift Card!

Doesn't that sentiment say it all!!! Ho Ho Ho - it's Christmas time!!!
These day's it hard to know what Christmas gift to buy....... so sometimes it's easier to get a gift card instead.

That's why the challenge at Just Add Ink of just add a gift card is perfect for this time of year.
I know I've made several gift card holders this year.

Today I've made a gift card holder from the Envelope Liner framelits.

I also made a matching card to go with the gift card holder.

This gift card (for a surf store) is going to a teenage boy so I thought the blue and white theme really suited!!

Can't have a Christmas card without a bit of sparkle :)

I wish I'd come up with this gift card holder idea myself but I didn't.  Luckily for me Patty had an awesome and easy tutorial here.  I used the smallest envelope liner instead of the middle size like she'd used.

If you're stuck for ideas on what kind of gift card holder to make you'd better check out what the other Design Team members have created!!!

This is the last Just Add Ink challenge for 2015 so you'd better get your entry in here,

Thanks so much for taking the time to read my little blog over the year, I really appreciate all the comments too :)

Wishing you a safe and happy Christmas to you and your family.

Just Add Ink #292 - Inspiration photo

Oh my goodness where has this week gone!
I totally forgot it was Friday so my apologies for getting this post up late.

Just Add Ink have a very merry inspiration image for the challenge this week.
The colours really say Tiffany's to me..... wouldn't it be lovely to receive some for Christmas!!!! (wishful thinking!)

Anyway here is the card I created and obviously I was inspired by the colours, the Christmas trees and the sparkly bling!

I hope you can see the sparkle on my card a little bit better in this photo!!!

I'd really love to see how this image inspires you so please join us and link up your creation here!

If you need some extra inspiration go check out what the rest of the design team have created :)

I haven't started on my Christmas shopping yet.... oh dear I know I'm in loads of trouble.....
Oh well, I'll be more organised next year (I hope!)

Just Add Ink #290 - Colour Combo

It's challenge day at Just Add Ink and Jan has suggested a great colour combo for us to try!

The colours are Watermelon Wonder, Garden Green, Crushed Curry and
Sahara Sand.  I'd never think to use these colours together but they really do work in nicely together.

I thought they worked well as a little twist on the traditional Christmas colours :)
The Watermelon Wonder looks really red in these photos but in really life they are a bit pinker!

Would you believe I don't have any Garden Green ink! Luckily I had some cardstock and dsp I could use for this challenge.

The Design Team have really created so many different looks with these colours! You really must check out their work here.

Don't forget to link up your creation too :)

Happy Friday.

Just Add Ink #288 - Sketch

It's sketch time at Just Add Ink this week!

There are so many things in this world to be grateful for but how often do you take the time to thank someone for something they've done and show them you've appreciated their help?
I know for me that I often verbalise my appreciation but I think it's nice to also put some action (like a little card or flowers) with those words.
This sketch was the perfect opportunity to create a card for one of these occasions.

I've embossed a piece of black core'dination paper and then gently sanded off the top so the white peeped through.
I put this behind my starburst cutout (although from this picture it's hard to tell it's sitting behind) and for the final touch I put on a big 'Thanks'.

I really hope you get to make time for yourself to play along with the Just Add Ink sketch this week.

The Design Team have created some beautiful samples so don't forget to pop over to the JAI blog and have a look.

Can't wait to see what you create :)
