Just Add Ink #319 - Inspiration photo

Hi everyone!
There's a fun inspiration photo challenge at Just Add Ink this week.

I found the image to be very Christmas looking given that wreaths are generally hung on doors at Christmas time!

As you can see I've taken inspiration from the wreath and created a black, white and red wreath (with a little splash of gold)

I was originally thinking that I wasn't going to create something with a Christmas theme but as it all came together I couldn't help but put a Christmas greeting on it.
The colours are so versatile that I probably could have used several different types of sentiments!

It's probably a little hard to tell from the photos but I've added some gold shimmer to the background and also to the red flowers.

Here's the inspiration photo

There are so many different cards that the Design Team have created this week so don't forget to head over to the blog and check them out.

Can't wait to see how you interpret this image!!!!

Just Add Ink #317 - Colour combo

Just Add Ink have a colour combo challenge this week that I think lends it's self perfectly to be used with flowers.

The colour combo is Flirty Flamingo, Rose Red, Crushed Curry and Pear Pizzazz!

I don't have any of the new Stampin' Up! in colours yet so I've used Blushing Bride instead of Flirty Flamingo.

For this card I've used a couple of stamp sets from Altenew. Including this beautiful 'celebrate' sentiment which I've fussy cut and popped up on dimensionals.
I was really tempted to use my wink of stella on the flowers but I resisted and let the little sequins steal the bling show :)

I'd really love to see how you used these colours - with flowers or not!!

Here's the colour combo -

Happy Friday!

Just Add Ink #315 - Sketch

Yahoo it's sketch challenge time at Just Add Ink!!!

Like all challenges some are easier than others, this particular sketch challenge was a hard one for me.  I'm not entirely loving what I created as I had something else in mind that just didn't work at all!

I really wanted to use up some DSP on this card as I haven't used any DSP in weeks.

I think the flowers need to be a little bigger and that's what's been nagging at me about this card, other than that I think it's a wonderful and sweet card for the recipient I had in mind when creating it.

Can you see the wink of stella I've used on the flowers?  It looks so good in real life..... what did we do before WoS??

Any way here's the sketch for this week.

The Design team have really come up with some interesting takes on this sketch so pop on over to the JAI blog and check them out.
Can't wait to see what you do with it :)

Just Add Ink #313 - Just Add 'B'

Hi All,

This week at Just Add Ink we've got a really cool challenge for you!

We want you to just add anything starting with B to your project.

Not sure if I went a little over board with all the B's on my card......

I've added blue balloons for a baby boy..... was that taking it a little too far??

My card looks super sparkly in these pictures but in real life it doesn't look that overpowering!

I really hope you get time to play in our just add B challenge this week.
If you need a little inspiration pop on over to the JAI blog and check out the beautiful creations by the Design Team!!!

Just Add Ink #311 - Masking

YIPPEE WOOHOO!!! It's Just Add Ink challenge time again :)

This week we have an awesome technique challenge - it's masking.

I had heaps of fund deciding on how and what type of masking I would do.

Here's what I came up with....

I masked of a section for the sentiment and then went to town on stamping my flowers :)

I ended up using this card for my Mother's day card for my Mum.  I thought it was a nice change from the traditional 'happy mother's day'.

I can't wait to see how you use the masking technique so don't forget to link up with the challenge here!
