Dining Chairs finished!!!

You remember the dining chairs that I posted about here earlier in the month...... well I finished them today!!! WOOHOO!!! (with a little help from my mum too)

They were a lot more work than I expected but I'm sooooooooo happy with them. It's meant that I haven't had any time to make any cards but it now means that we finally have a dining set we can sit and eat dinner at - and it's been about 2 years since we've had that!

I was so keen to show you all so I took the photos just now (it's just on dusk). I've had to use the flash and it hasn't produced the best photo but you get the idea.

Remember what they used to look like.......

Ahhhhh now heavenly white

I've got a huge smile on my face and I can't stop looking at them.
I hope your weekend has been just as fantastic as mine!!!
XOXOXOXOXO

I'm sure you all sick of me telling you how busy I am but have been!!! I've only had time to create one card in the past week! Eeek!

So I thought I'd combine two challenges to get the most out of my short time crafting.

I've used the colour combo from Embellish Magazine and the sketch from Clean and Simple

I've used:

So here is the colour combo

Creations

So as I said on Sunday I managed to get a few hours in the craft room.

There is a lady at work who recently she asked me to make her some cards. The details I was given- one anniversary card, two male birthday cards and one female birthday card . The lady likes ribbon, glitter and blue, the males like outdoors, dogs and blue. (Fairly broad instructions, which at first I found difficult but in the end it worked out for the best!)

My inspiration for the anniversary card is my favourite, that sweet sweet cream button!
I came across it in a bag of random buttons that I bought from some markets recently.

Here's a close up of that beautiful button

Four very different cards all created in one afternoon - the best craft day I've had in a while!!

ps if you want the details for any of these cards just email me or leave a comment.

Dining Chairs

I've been meaning to share these beauties with you for a while now!!

(sorry the pic isn't the best)

I brought these 6 silky oak dining chairs just before Christmas and I had planned on doing them up over the holidays but unfortunately I was really sick over Christmas and didn't get around to it.

I had no plans this weekend or any chores as I'd done them during the week so it was a perfect weekend to make a start on them.

When I brought them their paint had been stripped by a paint stripper so they needed a really good sanding!!! I spent most of Saturday sanding them, patching up holes, replacing screws and gluing up some loose parts.

Today I started painting on the sealer. I set up in the sunshine and was only there for a few minutes before I decided it was way to hot, so I moved under a tree in some shade. I was there for a good hour before it started raining and I had to quickly pack up and I set up again in the garage. After a little lunch break I went back out in to the garage but the sweat was pouring off me as it was quite humid after the rain. So I didn't get as much done today as I would have liked.

How ever it did give me a couple of hours in the craft room and I'll show you later this week what I created.

I'll keep you posted on how my chairs turn out :)

Hope you all had a great weekend!!

Lollipop Ladies Design Team Call and challenge 13

Gosh it's been forever since I've posted!!!

I've been extremely busy in my day job, working longer hours and working with lots of figures and spreadsheets - they just make my brain mushy!!!! It's all to do with the floods we just had here in Brisbane. So when I get home I haven't had any energy left to be creative. It's been weeks since I was in the craft room :(

HOWEVER my BFF sent me a link telling me I needed to put in an applications for the Design Team call over at the Lollipop Ladies. So I finally got my butt into gear and into the craft room.

I decided to play a long with this weeks challenge 'Mint Fudge and polkadots' and use that for my DT call entry.

So here it is

I've used:
Paper
-
Very Vanilla, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla DSP
Ink
-
Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz and Crumb Cake
Stamp Set - Elements of Style and the sentiment from Paper Tray Ink
Other: Nestablilities, buttons, twine, ribbon and lace ribbon
