Halloween

Happy Halloween!!

We don't really celebrate Halloween here in Australia but I think it's an awesome opportunity to have a fun party. So that is exactly what I did!!

We had a costume party and everyone who came really go into it and went to huge efforts to dress up.

For those of you who know the TV series True Blood you will recognise who I dressed up as, but for those of you who don't I'm Sookie Stackhouse the main character.

Here is a pic of my sister, who went as Jessica and myself

Here is a pic of the real character Sookie

I was super impressed how my costume turned out!!!!!

Well I did have a few drinks last night to celebrate so I think I'm going to have an afternoon snooze.

I hope you have a great Halloween :)

Junkin'

Have you heard the term Junkin'? I've heard it a few times lately and ..... well..... I love Junkin!

If you haven't heard of it, it is where you go to garage sales or kerbside collections and the like and pick up a bargain. I'm sure my love for Junkin is in my genes as my Dad is exactly the same.

So on the weekend I went Junkin and I found this very cute little out door setting.

I just adore it BUT I've got no where to put it :(

So I've popped it up on ebay, fingers crossed someone else finds it just as cute as I do!!

Clean and Simple # 112

I was playing around with my copics the other day and coloured in these cute little bells.
When I saw the Fall to layout sketch this week I thought I'd try and create something with the bells. I didn't quite stick to the sketch as it was supposed to be a square card.

I was a little disappointed that the white embossing of 'Always and Forever' at the top didn't stand out as much as I thought it would.

I've used:
Paper
- Whisper White, Crumb Cake and Lost and Found patterned paper

Ink
-
Copics, Versamark and White Embossing powder
Stamp Set - Mini messages - Kaszazz
Other: Nestabilities, Martha Stewart doily punch, pearls and white ribbon

Simple Treasures & JAI 39

Earlier this week I noticed that Simple Treasures blog is turning 2 and to celebrate Debbie is giving away a missive pile of blog candy worth $200! She has used a beautiful inspiration picture from Martha Stewart for her challenge (see below)

Then this morning while blog surfing I saw that JAI's challenge was just add blue for Anxiety and Depression Awareness Month and it also happens to be Mental Health week this week.

I've previously mention on my blog that I suffer from depression so when I saw that JAI was holding this challenge I just had to create something!

I've used:
Paper
- Whisper White and Marina Mist

Ink
-
Marina Mist
Stamp Set - Birthday Sentiments by Amy R Stamps and En Francais
Other: Nestablilites, Paper doily, Pins and Ribbon (I didn't have any Marina Mist ribbon so I just used white ribbon and coloured it with my Marina Mist ink pad)

Just Add Ink #38

The challenge at Just Add Ink this week is for such a great cause. They are helping raise awareness for The Cancer Council's national Pink Ribbon Day which is coming up on October 25th.

I'm going to be hosing a Pink morning tea on the 25th at my work to help raise funds. Unfortunately most of us know someone with cancer, someone who did have cancer or we know someone who will have cancer.

I personally have lost two of my grandparents to cancer, T lost his step mum last year to cancer and my mum was diagnosed last year with cancer.

Hopefully one day they will find cures for all cancers.

Sorry for the horrible picture, I couldn't get my lighting right - you can't really see the glitter on the 'For You'.

I've used:
Paper
- Whisper White, Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette

Ink
-
Pretty in Pink and Pink Pirouette
Stamp Set - Vintage Labels
Other: Cuttlebug Embossing folder, Paper Flowers Glitter and Rhinestones

Thirsty Critters Brewery Tour

It was T's birthday a month ago and as part of his present I got him a MicroBrewery tour with Thirsty Critters Brewery Tour.

First up I'd like to say if you have a man in your life (Partner, Dad or Friend) THIS is the best present you could get him!

The tour we took was the Byron & Tamborine Tour

The Byron tour takes in 3 breweries in two states in one day! The breweries are Stone & Wood Brewery, Byron Bay Brewery, and MT Brewery, three of the finest craft breweries in Australia.

The guide Pete was excellent, making us feel at ease straight away and impressing us with his knowledge about beer.

We had such a fun day!!!!

So if you make a booking with Pete and mention that you saw this on my blog and mention my name Trish he'll give you a 10% discount.

Get cracking and book an early Christmas present for that male in your life!!!!
