Whoopie Pies - nom nom noms!

I was inspired by this post over at Kit and Nancy to make Whoopie Pies!!

What is a Whoopie Pie I hear you ask...... I think this description sums it up very well -

Whoopie pies are like the best part of a cupcake squished into one delicious sandwich. That would be the top of the cupcake and the frosting, of course.

Now I'm not the best baker in the world and I did make a few mistakes (like putting in double the amount of sugar!!) so they didn't turn our nearly as pretty as I'd hoped.
BUT they did taste amazing!!!

I had heaps of fun making a big mess in the kitchen, it was quite relaxing!

I made two batches, one chocolate and one carrot cake.
Head over to Kit and Nancy and check out the carrot cake recipe (It's delicious) and try it for your self!!!

I hope you've had a relaxing weekend.
Hugs and Kisses to you all.

Yard Sale finds

As you know I went to Kate's yard sale on Saturday morning. Gosh I had to get up early as she lives 30 minutes from my house and I didn't want to get there too late and before everything sold!! I knew things would walk out of there like hot cakes!!!

I was blown away with how organised and set up it was, just like a little shop. There were so many beautiful pieces of furniture and lots of lovely other bits and bobs.
It was so nice to finally meet Kate and have a quick chat with her, she's one talented lady!

A few lovelies made their way home with me............ a pink glass cake stand, floral jug, 2x picture frames (one of which is not pictured here), a mirror and two cushion covers.

On the way home I called into a few more garage sales and picked up that cute glass closh (for only ONE dollar!!!), that sweet little glass plate and adorable yellow rose plate.

The photo frame that I haven't shown you here is quite a large one that needs some work, so I'll have to show you at a later stage what I have in store for that one!!!

I love going to garage sales but really hate having to get up so early to get the good pieces, I was so glad I made the effort this weekend! I met one lovely lady and came away with some great finds :)

When I saw the inspiration image at Pals Paper Arts this week I swooned!!
