Just add a colour combo - challenge #215

It's new challenge day at Just Add Ink and the colour combo picked by Mae certainly challenged me!

I automatically wanted to make a Christmas card with the colours - Cherry Cobbler, Baked Brown Sugar and Garden Green but I resisted and decided on something different.
I've also used Very Vanilla as a neutral to soften the colours a little bit as I found them all to be very strong.

I also added some gold shimmer mist to the flowers which you might be able to see in the picture below.

The challenge this week is actually running for 2 weeks so you've got plenty of time to make your creation and link it up!

Here's the colour combo

If you're heading to the Stampin' UP! convention next week I hope you have a fab time and I'll be thinking of you all dancing the night away!

Just Add Ink #213 Inspiration picture

This week's inspiration challenge at Just Add Ink is right up my alley...... pink, chevrons and flowers!

The inspiration pictures gave me so many ideas that I didn't know where to start.
I remembered seeing an interesting technique using masking fluid over on this blog where Amber gives a great tutorial.
I decided to give it a try!  I firstly had to buy the fluid at a local craft store and then I did quite a few test runs to make sure I was happy with the final product.

Here's what I eventually came up with

I've also borrowed another technique for the paper feathers from fellow Design Team member Susan.
You can see her feathers here.

The pink in these pictures looks really dark but in real life it's' much softer!

Here is the inspiration picture -

The design team have out done themselves this week so hop over and check out their creations.

I hope to see your inspired designs this week so link up here!
