Cushions!

Well I haven't had much mojo lately to create any cards and when I do try to make one it ends up taking me HOURS!!!

So I thought I'd get crafty in another way........... by making some cushion covers to go on my lounge.

I haven't done any sewing (apart from on cards) for about 2 years now, I can't believe how quick that time has gone.

I brought some fabric ohhhhhh about only a year ago, you might remember me posting about it here.
I had always planned to use that fabric for cushions on the lounge but never got around to it - well no more waiting, I've finally done it!!!!!!!!!

I made two of each cushion so there is a set of 3 on each of our lounges.

It all came back to me so easily and it didn't take long at all to whip these up.

Whisked away for the weekend!!

Yep as the title of my post suggests I was whisked away for the weekend by my partner to celebrate our anniversary!!!

He took me away to a surprise location a few hours out of Brisbane....... can you guess where??

It was a lovely winery called Captain's Paddock - it was soooooo beautiful!!

There is only one cottage on the vineyard so we had the place to our selves, so we wandered the vines for the afternoon.
and we were followed around by one of the owners dog's - Merlot (Wonder why she got that name!) she was so friendly but wasn't to happy about me taking her photo!

We were served the most amazing dinner and dessert in the cottage right by the roaring fire along with some of the Merlot wine they make. It was so relaxing and romantic, I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Then this morning we were served a massive hot breakfast on the veranda looking out at this view.......

I was so sad to leave however my spirits were lifted a little on the way home when we stopped in at this humongous antique shop in Esk.

Can you see my partner in this photo? He really wanted to be in a photo for the blog so he stuck his head in this shot with out me realising!!!!

I didn't end up buying anything here but loved looking around at lots of beautiful things.

It's so depressing to think what I left behind this morning and having to go back to the day job tomorrow.

It was an amazing weekend and if you get the opportunity I'd highly recommend you stay at Captain's Paddock and let yourself be totally looked after by the great hosts there!

Choo Choo!!

Happy Saturday!!

The lovely Karen had a little stamp sale recently (I think she still has some left) and I picked up this Choo Choo set for a bargain. I've been meaning to buy it since I first saw it but it seems to keep getting dropped on my list.

I've really enjoyed it and I'm super happy how this card came out. I was soooooo excited as I was putting it together that I totally forgot to put anything on my buttons and didn't realise until I was taking the photo - so I have naked buttons *gasp*

Align Center
(The naked buttons!!)

I really like how the edges came out, I used my little ink pot and just lightly ran it across the top of the paper and then a little bit harder around the edges.

Such a cute little boys card!!!!!

Hi to all my Brisbane followers or followers who might be in Brisbane this weekend!

One of my favourite antique sellers will be selling beautiful finds there - check out their blog here

I urge you all to come and if you haven't already brought a Mothers day present you'll be bound to find something here.

It's at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Hall, 47 Dornoch Tce, West End
