Just Add Ink #268 - Sketch

It's almost the weekend - yippee!

The bubba, my Mum and I are heading on a little road trip tomorrow and it will be about 5 hours driving all up (there and back).  It's a lot of driving for one day and I hope my wee little one behaves and doesn't get too bored.  I must say I'm a bit nervous about being out for the whole day and not being able to let bub have a good sleep, of course he will sleep for some of the time in the car but that still doesn't make up for a nice big sleep in his cot.

Anyway onto the reason why we are here.... the sketch challenge this week at Just Add Ink.

I was really looking forward to working with this sketch and I had quite a few ideas in my mind but I couldn't translate any of them onto paper!
Arrrggg how frustrating!!!
Does that ever happen to you?

After making a few different cards I finally settled on this card for a lovely couple who've just had their first baby!

I added a little sparkly heart for a little bling :)

The Design team have created some BEAUTIFUL cards this week and I'm so envious that they nailed this sketch!!!!!

I really hope you have time to join in the fun and link up your creation here.

  1. Lovey, YOU nailed the sketch - this card is gorgeous! Beautiful gift for your friends. xx

  2. Oh sweetie, I'm pretty sure you nailed the sketch yourself! Yes I think it happens to all of us, having something in mind and having quite the opposite come out on paper. Annoying as that is. You're not alone!

Love your pretty pink creation, especially that little touch of bling. Yay for a new baby girl.

Hope the road trip went well.

  3. Oh so pretty Trish! Such a cute giraffe and pretty polka dots and love the bling of the silver heart - a gorgeous baby card! Hope your road trip with your little man and Mum went really well too. xx

  4. I hope your beautiful little muffin coped with such a big day out and you both enjoyed some lovely mummy/nanny time..:0)
This is such a sweet card Trishie, love the layering and polka dot theme. xx

  5. Ohhh very cute - lovely little sparkly heart. I like how your polka dot dsp matches your embossing. Chantell x x x

  6. This is a delightful baby card Trish! Sweet and soft just like a brand new one! That little glimmer hearts is the sweetest touch too. Hope you and the little guy survived the road trip without frazzled nerves! xxx

  7. This is the sweetest little baby card, I love it! That Giraffe is so cute :)

  8. I think you rocked the sketch Trish. Your sweet little giraffe is adorable (love the little glittery heart) & your choices of paper & embossing really give a lovely textured look.
Hope the road trip went really well too.
    Di :-)
