Just Add Ink #300 - Sketch challenge

Yippee!!! It's Just Add Ink's 300th challenge!

We'd really love for you to play along with us this week in our massive milestone challenge.  Some of our design team have donated 3 fab prizes for this special occasion - one for our top pick and one for each honorable mention.

I'm really enjoying this sweet 'Hello', you might remember I used it in a similar way a few weeks ago here.

The little tiny DSP flags add that little bit of pattern that I think this card needed!  You can't really see from the pictures but I've dotted some wink of stella on the dotty circles in the background.

I'm so proud to be here on the JAI Design Team for their 300th challenge!  I'm certainly not one of our longest standing members but I have been here since challenge #104 and my goodness hasn't my paper crafting evolved since then! Ha!

We'd really love you to join in the celebration and enter your creation here

Here's the sketch -

Happy Friday!

Just Add Ink #299 - Inspiration photo

It's challenge day at Just Add Ink and we have a cool and summery photo to give you inspiration this week.

I may have gone a little overboard with all the different stamp sets I've used to create this..... Can you count how many I've used????  I'll let you know at the bottom of the post!

You can also see the inspiration photo at the bottom of this post - I really LOVE these colour together and I was inspired by the different shades of pink and green.

The image seemed light and refreshing so I wanted to emulate that in my project this week.
I've used a velum bag instead of a traditional envelope, kind of recreating the glass jar - this way the pretty details of the inside peek through :)

Here's my card without the 'envelope' and it's probably a little bit hard to see but I've white embossed the top left corner with some pretty little flowers from the Birthday Blossoms set.

I've created an ombre effect in the background with the little string of hearts (this was my attempt to capture the different variations of green in the inspiration photo).

Now I'm looking at these photos I think I might go back and add a little pearl or rhinestone to that sweet little hot pink flower on the envelope :)

The Design Team creations are AMAZING! So while you're popping in your entry here don't forget to stop by their blogs to say hi.

Oh and did you guess that I used a total of 6 different stamp sets!
They are - Birthday Blooms, Garden in Bloom, Gorgeous Grunge, Birthday Blossoms, Friends Never Fade and Tape It!

Enjoy your Friday and I'll be back next week with a fun card for Just Add Ink's 300th challenge!!!!

Just Add Ink #297 - Colour combo

I've seen this beautiful bloom from the Something New stamp set all over the internet lately and I couldn't wait to ink it up when I received it a few weeks ago. Although I must say it did take me a little while before I inked it up as there are so many beautiful creations out there and I wasn't sure I could create anything nearly as nice.

The colour combo challenge at Just Add Ink this week was a good jumping off point to get started - the colours are Pool Party, Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz.

It's been so hot and humid in Brisbane this week so it was so nice to sit in the air conditioning and create this!!!

I white embossed the outline of the flower and that really helped with the colouring! You might remember Rochelle did the same thing a few weeks ago in her JAI blog hop project here

I used my Copic markers to colour it in so the pinks and greens aren't and exact match but they are as close as I could get to the colour challenge colours.

I took some inspiration from a card with a similar layout to this while I was browsing pinterest but I forgot to pin it {silly me!}

Here's the colour combo and you can check out the other Design Team projects on the Just Add Ink blog.

I really hope to see what you create with this colour combo so don't forget to link up here.

I'm just starting to come down with cold so I don't think I'll be doing any crafting over the next week :(  Does anyone else find their mojo disappears when they are sick?
