Last night I was looking around in blog land as saw lots of people have been creating their own Christmas wreaths. I've made my wreaths before but usually out of native flowers.
Inspired by all the wonderful creations I saw this year I thought I'd try something different!!!
I don't know about you but sometimes when I'm in creative mood I have to make or do what ever it is I'm thinking about right then, other wise I become very restless.
So last night it was about 9.30pm (which is late for me!) when I decided I was going to make a wreath - I hadn't planned on this so I had nothing purchased to help me out. I went scouring around the house to find something that I could make the ring part of the wreath out of.
(You can just see it now, me turning the house up side down and T sitting there thinking 'what on earth is she doing'?)
I had almost given up hope of finding any thing when I had an idea but I wasn't sure if it would work out, but no harm trying it out right?
You'll never guess what I found.......... a
cat tunnel! That's right you heard me a cat tunnel!
If you don't know what I'm talking about go
here.
I had recently been given a new cat tunnel and was throwing out the old one as it was quite tatty. It was sitting beside the bin waiting to be taken out with the trash.
I cut all the fabric away from the wire, then with the help of T I bunched up all the wire and held it together with zip ties. In my search around the house I had gathered up a pile of things I could use on the wreath one of which was an old lace curtain.
I cut a few strips off and wrapped it around the wire, stuck a few paper flowers and butterflies on, then popped on the big bow -
presto a very cute wreath!
Not bad for what used to be a cat tunnel - hey?
Hope you have a great weekend ahead of you :)
