Fabulous Blog

The beautiful Patrice from Spring Blossom Musings gave me this 'FABULOUS' blog award!!!!!

The rules are to pass this Award forward and tell you 10 things about myself. There are so so many blogs I love to visit regularly, it is too hard to choose just 1!

But I've narrowed it down to Michelle from Divine Finds
I just love her blog and she has such beautiful taste - go check out all her Divine Finds!!!!!!

Now for the 10 things about myself:

1. I looooove ice cream especially chocolate flavours

2. I’m a hopeless romantic

3. I have a boring desk job

4. It’s a toss up between my favourite foods – Italian or Indian

5. My favourite meal is Chicken Paprika (no one makes it like my Moma used too)

6. I love making cards but I also love to paint, draw and sew – not that I seem to have much time for any of these things lately!

7. My favourite website is etsy.com

8. I’m on the boarder line of gen y and gen x – I consider myself a Gen Y

9. I suffer from depression, card making gives me a huge relief from this

10. I have no idea what I want to be when I ‘grow up’

Copics practice

So I've been practicing using my copics and here is a Tilda that I've completed.

I'm finding it a little difficult to get my technique down pat and I'm not very quick and it takes me a long time to get it all done. But I think I'm getting there..... as the old saying goes 'practice makes perfect!'

If you look carefully on her hair you'll see that I've added a little sparkle!!!!!!

Hope you all have a good weekend :)

Picture Perfect Creations Colour Combo #22

This week I decided to make something completely out of my comfort zone!

I love the fresh cut notes and I finally got the Fresh cuts stamp set from Karen who was having a clearing sale! Thanks Karen :)

So the little thank you cards were no problem but to make the folder to put them in was a bit time consuming because I've never made one before.
I'm not sure if I like it or not....perhaps it will grow on me.

I hope that you get some inspiration and start doing things outside of your comfort zone too.

I've used: Paper - Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Rich Razzleberry, Regal Rose and Really Rust (no Cajun Craze here in Australia yet!)
Ink - Baja Breeze, Rich Razzleberry, Regal Rose, Really Rust and Versamark
Stamp Set - Fresh Cuts
Other: Fresh Cut notes, White embossing powder and brads

Copics Class

A little while ago I told you that I was attending a Copics class.

Well I had my second lesson tonight and we learnt about so many different things that you can use copics for other than just to colour in paper!!! And even with the images you have coloured in there are heaps of techniques you use to make patterns and add texture.

I'll have an image to show you in a few days and you can let me know if you think I'm progressing.

My little container of Copics is slowly growing............

Picture Perfect Creations Colour Combo #21

I've been told that apparently I use a lot of butterflies on my work.....I'd never noticed before it was pointed out!! HA isn't it funny how some times you don't notice things in life until it's pointed out to you.

This week's Picture Perfect Creations Colour Combo is a lovely one. There are two colours in the challenge that we don't have here in Australia so I've used similar ones.
I can't wait for the new catalogue to come out on 1 September so we can get all the new beautiful colours!!!!!!

I've used: Paper - Soft Suede, Craft, Rose Red and Pretty in Pink
Ink - Soft Suede, Rose Red and Pretty in Pink
Stamp Set - Occasional Greetings, Great Friend and a swirl from Kazazz
Other: Soft Suede ribbon, Craft ribbon and Dew Drops

Picture Perfect Creations Colour Combo #20

The colour combo this week from Picture Perfect Creations was a beauty!

I love Rose Red and it looks lovely with the Chocolate Chip.

I've seen on quite a few blogs lately ladies using ribbon all bunched up....it looked pretty hard to do! I haven't tried it before BUT it's actually fairly easy to do and I really like the look it creates.

I've used: Paper - Whisper White, Chocolate Chip and Rose Red
Ink - Chocolate Chip and Rose Red
Stamp Set - Occasional Greetings
Other: Chocolate Chip Ribbon, 1xBrad and Paper flowers

Here is the colour pallet

Copics - My very first try

You might remember a little while a go I went to the Brisbane Scrapbook Expo and I bought my first Copics!!!!

I've been hesitant to use them but I've have had a little play... see the image below.

So becuase I've been a bit usnsure I decided to enrol in a Copics course run by my local scrapbook store.

I'm attending 1 night every fortnight for 6 weeks (so 3 classes). The course goes for 2 hours each night. I went to my first class on Thursday and it was so much fun!!! I was given soooooooo much information and there are so many techniques to learn. I had no idea you could do so many things with Copics. It's fantastic that it's being held over a few nights so that I can go home and practice and if I think of any questions to ask I can the following session. Also included in the price is 6 Copics - so I need to decide which ones I want to get next!

I'll show you some of my practice pieces as we go a long but for now here is what I've done before I started the course. You can let me know as I go if you think I'm improving (fingers crossed I do!)
