Cottage Crafting

Today has been filled with walks on the beach and card making.

Here is my little set up at the cottage.

I really miss my crafting space at home.
It's not the same with out all my tools and embellishments.

I started 6 cards today but can't finish them because I've decided they need things that I've left at home.
So here is a little peek at what I've been working on.

I think it's time for another nanna nap, this is the life!!!!

Long weekend away

I'm up at beautiful Caloundra for a few nights - Yay an extra long weekend!

I've brought a few of my crafting things with me but I'm not sure that I'll get much done.
It's raining up here today but the forecast is for some sunshine tomorrow (Although I don't think that it will be warm enough for a swim).

It's been relaxing so far with an afternoon nanna nap already.

Tonight will be filled with board games which I love but I'm really not good at any of them and usually come last.

I don't think I'll be posting much for the next few days as I plan on taking it easy with a lot more relaxing.

Hope you all get some time for your self this weekend to relax and so something that you love.

16th for a male

One of my colleagues I work with in my day job asked me to make a card for his son's 16th coming up this month.

I haven't created many male cards as I find them quite a challenge. The only thing I know about his son is he likes football and cricket.

So I decided to use the Just Rugby set from Stampin' Up! I wasn't sure what colours to use so I chose to base the card on the Australian team colours, green and gold.

After making the first card with a 16 on it, I had an idea to make a card set out like a football field.

I wasn't sure if these two cards were suitable so I decided to create a simple birthday card in greys, blues and greens.

I was quite nervous when I handed them to my colleague as I've never done a custom order before. But he was so happy with them he decided to buy all 3 from me!!

It was super exciting to see someone like my work so much, hopefully this leads to more orders as I enjoyed doing it.

Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 19

So today I've entered Stacey's Stamping Stage's Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 19

Susannah Tucker's Polaroid was the inspiration for this weeks colour pallet. Susannah has a wonderful etsy shop here.

I've never done a colour challenge before and I found it really interesting.

Here's what I came up with

I've used:
Paper - Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette, Bashful Blue and Elegant Eggplant (Since I don't have Rich Razzelberry -Yet!)
Stamp Set - Wonderful Words, Great Friends, Butterfly Prints and a Swirl from Kaszazz
Other: Bashful Blue and Elegant Eggplant ink, Versamark and some Blue, Pink and Purple gem stones.

Here is the colour pallet:

I'm really getting quite a few cards made by doing all these challenges!!!
Although I don't think I'll be able to do this many every week :)

Clean and Simple #80

I've had time this week to play a long with the Clean and Simple Sketch which I'm really enjoying.

Once again this is another excellent sketch by the girls over at Clean and Simple.

I've used:
Paper - Whisper White, Certainly Celery and some patterned paper I found in my stash (not sure where it came from!!!)
Stamp Set - Great Grads
Other: Certainly Celery Ink and Ribbon

Here is the sketch - I decided to use on it's side.
